10th International LLinE Conference New Partnerships and Lifelong Learning January 17 – 19, 2008 Helsinki, Finnland

The 10th International LLinE Conference (Lifelong Learning in Europe) that took place in Helsinki on 17-19 January 2008 was devoted to the topic New Partnerships and Lifelong Learning. Тhe event organized as usual by the KVS Foundation in Helsinki gathered more than 70 experts in the field of Adult Education and Lifelong Learning from all over Europe (from Ireland, through Austria, Slovenia and Bulgaria up to Russia and Georgia).

The conference managed to combine professional key note speakers’ and case study presentations with interesting plenary debates and very efficient small groups work in the 4 workshops, where again different topics were investigated and discussed, as:
- Work, learning and family (1)
- Education and Entrepreneurship (2)
- Multicultural Society and Learning Communities (3)
- Partners for Learning Regions (4).

In the framework of the second workshop, the representative of DVV International Bulgaria – Anelia Miteva presented the experience of the organization and in particular a very successful Grundtvig Learning Partnership Project ‘Future workshops for Europe’ (www.future-workshops-for-europe.org ). After the following discussions in the Editorial Board, her paper based on this presentation was among the selected ones for the next issue of the LLinE Magazine in 2008.

The 10th LLinE conference proved once again that Partnerships and Networking in Adult Education and Lifelong Learning do matter in our highly interconnected globalized world and that there is a new generation of young adult education experts who do care about the future developments in this field and will continue the mission to ‘make a better world’.
